Connect your Letterboxd account (or import a CSV export) to pull in your film watch history and ratings — so Claude can factor in everything you have already seen when generating film recommendations.

Set up a verified WhatsApp Business profile for What's Next? so users can share the app via WhatsApp with a branded preview. The share button already supports WhatsApp; this adds the business-side setup so the link unfurls with the app name, logo, and description rather than a plain URL.

Add Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com affiliate links to every book queue card and history card. Links use personalised tracking IDs so Joe earns commission on purchases. Search-based URLs (title + author) so no ASIN lookup needed — works for any book.

Recommendation cards for films, TV, books, and podcasts show the main cast, director, author, or host as clickable names. Clicking a name opens a creator page listing everything they have made. Users can mark any creator as a favourite — surfacing unseen or unread titles in their queue automatically — or mark them as not interested to suppress their work from future recommendations. Example: click Kate Winslet on a film card, see her full filmography, spot titles not yet in your queue, and add them in one tap.

Let users follow specific creators — actors, directors, authors, podcast hosts, producers — and surface everything they have made. Selecting a creator during onboarding or from a recommendation card builds a personalised browsing list of their full catalogue, automatically fed into your queue priorities.

A text box at the top of the My Queue screen letting users express general preferences in their own words — 'more slow-burn drama, less action', 'only films under 2 hours' — fed directly into the next round of recommendations.

Import your Goodreads read-shelf and to-read shelf from a CSV export. Completed books move to History with ratings; to-read books seed the Books queue. Eliminates the cold-start problem for readers who already have years of ratings on Goodreads.

A separate one-off recommendation mode for those moments when you fancy something outside your usual taste. Tell the app what you're in the mood for right now — a comedy, a trashy sci-fi novel, a feel-good film — and it generates a short list just for that session, completely separate from your main queue.

Add a theme toggle — Light, Dark, or Follow the System — accessible from Settings. The app currently ships dark-only; a light mode widens accessibility and suits users who prefer it during daylight. System mode respects the OS preference automatically.

Clicking the What's Next? logo in the top-left nav should take users to the landing page rather than /dashboard. Users who are already signed in should see a prominent "Back to app" button on the landing page so they can return easily. Standard behaviour across all apps.

Export any category list — or all of them at once — to a formatted, printable PDF. Useful for sharing with friends who don't use the app, or for keeping a physical record. Includes title, author/creator, score, and date completed.

Show the user's face (or a chosen avatar) in the top-right corner instead of a letter. Pulls from Gravatar automatically using the account email; falls back to a file upload. Makes the app feel personal and immediately yours.

Once a user has ranked their top 10 items, generate a shareable image or link — formatted for Instagram, X, or LinkedIn — showing their personalised list with a link back to the app. Drives organic traffic through word-of-mouth.

Share What's Next? with friends via social media (Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook), email, or SMS text. Quick-share buttons on the dashboard and profile pages.

Filter your Film and TV queue to show only titles available on a streaming service you subscribe to — Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, and others. Connects to TMDB's streaming availability data. No more adding something to your queue and then finding you can't watch it.

Fergal Brophy: Worked great on podcasts though the list it presented to train it was very specific. I hadn't heard of any of them. Maybe more themed rather than specific podcasts because I suspect most people would be in same category as me.
